Piece of junk

Supposed to be free except for in app purchases. What a laugh! After you d/l the app, thats it. Pay or leave. Better yet, dont waste your time.

Works but needs a refresh

The app works fine, but the UI is in desperate need of an update. A text only view for articles would be a huge help as well.

Wont work on iPhone 7

Bad app ! Cant get a refund !! Stay away from this absolutely no support , terrible service the worst , made me cancel all other subscriptions to sky and telescope

Good content but very bad application

Good magazine but the application is the worst I have ever seen. Before was impossible to load your magazine most of the time. Need to try many time before your password is recognized. Now with the new version application quit before you can do anything. Even impossible to read old magazine. Stay away until they solve their problem.

Worste app ever

This magazine deserves a better app. Its slow and full of error messages. The user interface is hundred years old! Please switch to a professional app provider. So far I cannot read the issue I just purchased! F**k!

Beware

I was ecstatic when I found this app. Ive made my transition to e-mags and prefer most now to paper versions. Extra content is the key draw and have it fast being the other. I downloaded the app bought a years worth of issues with these hopes. Does S&T e-zine deliver? I dont know. The app opens shows me the covers gives me previews of mouth watering content but I cant access any of it. Access requires that I log in. Using my iTunes email and password gets me nowhere, popping up with an error message that my user name and password are wrong. Trying to recover my password yields nothing telling me my email address isnt registered. Contacting S&T gave me some hints but no resolution blaiming iTunes and telling me to contact them. Reporting a problem to iTunes using the link on my receipt yields nothing telling me that iTunes is unavailable, The subscription is in my account details. My card has been charged but no one seems to be available to help. Is there anybody out there? I REALLY want this to be a product review that glows like the sun. I even hope to edit this review to reflect the product itself but since I can access the product I cant do that. Until then, all I can say is the service is not resolving the issue and until I find a life form in the cyber universe to provide some help is wait until this thing works before you even download the app and tease yourself with false promise and hope.

Cant get new subscriptions

I signed up for a monthly renewal subscriptions from iTunes and I managed to get my first issue. However, every time I tried to download the next issue, it claimed that I didnt have a subscription even though I had paid for the next month. I was not impressed with the e-version of the magazine either. It is a straight copy of the paper version. There are no interactive features and the text quality doesnt look great on a retina screen unless you are zoomed out. I was really looking forward to subscribing to this magazine and it was a big disappointment.

Still very annoying with the purchase bug I have a monthly sub and find i have to fight it just to download the latest magazine.

Do not buy

I had a subscription with them via Zinio but decided to consolidate all my subscriptions in the iTunes mag store, bad choice when it comes to Sky & Telescope. For the last three months I cannot get any of the new magazines, contacting them just has them send me to Apple who can’t really do anything because the error is on their end. Whoever designed that app should be barred from ever touching a computer again. I have also cancelled my subscription. If S&T ever wants my money again, they better fix this app.

You pay 5,99€ to read a number, you download the just bought that magazine number. You tap on the icon and .... the app crashes !

App crashes continuously

Recently the app has started to crash continuously. It forgets which issues it has downloaded and keeps re-downloading them. Its a shame, the magazine is fantastic and I have been a subscriber for more than 20 years, now...

Clumsy, not thought through

What a shame! A great magazine hobbled by a poor digital offering. Example: after adding the latest edition to your library, you have to open and "access" every page before its actually on your device, to then allow you to read it offline (in airplane mode). But that only works straight away - the magazine doesnt stay "local" even after doing this if you quit the app, so you have to be connected to read your magazine! So I download the PDF each month and read through iBooks - guaranteed to work. As a digital magazine, its a terrible implementation - it might as well be web based access. S&T should take a look at some other magazine apps out there to see how to do this done properly, since this seems to be something theyre fumbling through right now as a new technology.

Needs inet

Cant read issues Ive purchased without an internet connection.for example - on an airplane, or on the train (I have wifi only iPad). Terribly inconvenient.

Not able to read offline

I can no longer download the magazine and read it offline. Now every time I read an issue, it has to download it. You can always read it by just repeatedly downloading it, but that increases and uses up your allotted data on you phone bill. These arent very small files, I imagine if you download it about five times then that is a gigabyte of data consumed.

Not worth it

This is one of the worst implementations of a magazine I have sen on an iPad. No video, almost zero interaction, sloppy navigation when moving through the magazine. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Used to work ...

This used to be an ok app. But now it seems that all pages beyond page 23 simply display a page no. and a blank screen. Virtually useless.

Less than useless

Magazines will only partially load...no customer service. Calling the print edition, it is clear that they have outsourced this app and cannot solve any technical issues. Id consider waiting on this app until S&T has figured out how to operate in a digital world.
